Filezilla MVS SFTP

Post by Joe@SF »

Does Filezilla allow for SFTP transfers to/from MVS datasets?

When trying to manually change the directory to //userid I get a "directory could not be found" error and can see that filezilla ignored my first / all
together and just puts /userid for the directory.

When trying to change the default remote directory to //userid it says that the directory can not be parsed or puts in /u/userid
instead.

I've tried changing the server type to MVS/z/OS but so far nothing. Does anyone have some kind of work around for this issue?

Some SFTP clients will change a leading "//" into "/". For this we also allow a dataset name prefix of "/-/", which is a syntactically valid Unix directly name.

Any progress on using Filezilla to access z/OS datasets?

Progress?

I tried FZ 3.58.0 and used "/-/" instead of "//" for data set prefixes as described above and it worked for me.
