MSG CEE5213S

Post by mwdazzo »

We are using cozbatch to script a batch SFTP client job to push an mvs dataset to a server. We have been testing this process successfully for a few weeks. Yesterday we got the msg below, can you provide any direction? Thanks Matt

From the messages you are receiving, it appears that the batch userid's OMVS segment as "/bin/echo" set as the login shell rather than the normal "/bin/sh". Could this have been changed?

By default, COZBATCH will with the user's login shell. You are getting a SIGPIPE error since you are trying to pipe STDIN to a program that won't accept it.

The problem was that the user id running the job did not have an omvs segment. Thanks

Ah. So the "default" OMVS segment at your installation must have "/bin/echo" setup as the default shell. Makes sense.
