how is CPU usage by COZSFTP compared to IBM SFTP ( temp copy to USS space and then transfer).
is COZ SFTP workload ZIIP engine eligible?
CPU usage by COZSFTP
Re: CPU usage by COZSFTP
When you use Co:Z SFTP, the overwhelming majority (often 90%) of CPU is in the IBM z/OS OpenSSH child process. This is the same as with IBM sftp.
CO:Z SFTP is mostly just data transformation and file/dataset I/O. It is difficult to compare to IBM sftp directly , since with IBM's sftp you can't use z/OS data sets, so there is often a second step to copy a UNIX file to/from a data set.
Since you can download and use Co:Z SFTP along side of IBM sftp, free under our Community License, we recommend that you test it and compare the differences in your environment. See: http://dovetail.com/support.html
