Space/memory ?? for large MVS dataset transfers.

Post by demyers1 »

New to COZ.
I've got an MVS dataset to MVS dataset sftp working OK.
I'm assuming it's using some type of piping or another method to stream the data through USS .... and into MVS dataset.

My question is....for very large file transfers...do I need to have a repository or make my TMPDIR very large too ??

Same question for virtual storage / USS memory ??

Thanks,
Dave

Nope.
With Co:Z, we receive the data stream and assemble records from it on the fly. No staging to disk is required.

BTW: z/OS Unix is just a set of services. z/OS Programs can use both Unix services and legacy MVS access methods at the same time.
