Just wanted to make sure that I had all correct. i have read some things that suggest that the admin webapp was not delivered with 6.0. Is this why I am getting the 404 on both the /host-manager and /manager or have I something amiss?

Yes, the "admin" app is not part of Tomcat 6.

The "manager" app is still available; correct url for the manager UI is:

http://host:port/manager/html
