Got S0C4

Post by Alfred »

I just installed the latest version of JZOS to give a try. Once I submit the JCL in the sample JCL lib, I got an SOC4 abend. It is a protection exception. Do I have to install JZOS with special authority?

Thanks for your reponse!

No, you shouldn't need any special authority.

This kind of problem often results from an incorrectly specified REGION parm on your job card, resulting in the JVM not having enough memory to run. See this link:

Your site may allow you to remove the REGION parm completely. If not, specify a memory size as per the post.

If this isn't the problem, please capture the output that you do get and send it to dev@jzos.com. It would be helpful if you set a LOGLVL='+I' before doing this.

Thanks,
